Princeton in Latin America

Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) is a non-profit organization that seeks to instill a lifelong commitment to Latin America in recent Princeton graduates by placing them in yearlong fellowship positions with public service, humanitarian, and cultural organizations in the region. In the spirit of Princeton’s motto, the work of these graduates supports efforts to overcome the region’s educational, economic, and environmental barriers to development. PiLA thus extends the benefits of a Princeton education beyond the classroom and affirms the importance of service as an effective way of addressing social needs. Firsthand work experience in Latin America with local organizations can be expected to create a network of motivated citizens dedicated to the region’s development agenda.
